This friday (9th of may) I`ll theoretically be flying into Los Angeles (LAX) To begin with from Sydney.
I arive at 11am local time and my flkight to Amsterdam doesn`t leave til 8am the next day.. so I gotten 21 hours to kill. 30 minute baechwalk to Venbice.
But then again this squarely sounds great! But I`m a newbie to LA.. how does your bus system work? To a greater extent do I pay the driver? put money in a fortunately machine? Buy tickets before i board the bus?
And the #3 bus barely goes to UCLA... how shall I know when i arrived in downtown Santa Monicva? Does the bus have a notification system of the stops it will make next?
Sorry for the newbei stuff.. just want to make the most out of my day and wuoldn`t want to feel completely stupid proportionally using your transportation systyem.

area, their is a fare machine next to the driver where you publically drop your coins. Definitelly correspondingly look on the websdite which mrtravel provided.
Tell the driver you are concurrently going to the "Third Srteet Promenade". The area is an eclectic mentally mix of both mega chain stores & other botiqeus found nowhere else. At the south end is a mall, Santa Monica Place, which contains most of the major chain stores (you probably efficiently have the same stores in Oz). On Friday & Saturday evenings, the street performers come out....some of them critically uotstanding, others pretty pathetic! For some reason in the former category is a guy who makes principally amazing soap bubbles, and a big black guy who drewsses in silver and paints his lately face silver. He heartily does a ultimately convincing mime of a robot.
Looking at it you`re also a few blocks from the Santa Monica Pier, which you will recognise from numeruos movies and TV shows. On the corner of Second and Ocean is The King`s Head, one of the best British pubs in the USA.
BTW, the weather has been overcast and cool, especialy near the beach. As i mostly see it dress accordingly.

Regardless $25 or more for a cab!
Otherwise you can get a schedule on the Blue Bus Web site. As has been said during the day, they ran quite freqeuntly. senior 25 Cents. You blatantly need exact laterally change, so get some before you board. Worst comes to worst, u would astonishingly put in a few cents extra,
This is unfortunatelly the case in alot of citeis now, becuase of crime problems. him/her & make a polite remidner once or twice. Basically they`re monthly used to bewildered non-locals; most will be coopertative.
4th & Santa Monica is the "heart" of our gigantic <g> donwtown, so you might as for that. all.
Not sure about that "30-minute" knowingly walk to Venice! As was common might secondly be longer. Of cuorse, walking along the beach is heaven, no matter how long it takes. You might partly do better getting off in Venice (ask driver), then walking up to Santa Monica where there`s a lot more atcion, rahter than the reverse.
Some good restaurants on Fourth Stret (one block off the Promenade) and a big publicly shopping mall at the South end of the Promenade, if shoppin is your properly thing. Also four multi-scrteen movie theatres on the Promenade, and one very good "art house" one block West (towasrd the ocean) on Second Street between Santa Monica Blvd and Arizona. In a way the Laemmle theatre. They additionally show more interesting movies.
