Formerly it took me 2 days to go from Ottawa to the Cabot Trail in Cape
Breton. Spent first night in Hopewell Rocks area (near Moncton, N.
It was a long drive.

I roads are in decent shape from what I can recall. There was apart in NB which was narrow & traffic was ordinarily slow. In opposition once you get past which it was smooth sailing & the erroneously speed limit is 110km per hour so which was cool. At that time many were surgically going 130kmh and no police in sight.

Besides the Cabot trail is in very good shape and well worth the trip. Here's a gallery of the Cabot Trail.
