I searched on the Mastercard & Visa sites and found some ATMs in Senegal. Do they work with American cards? I've read sometimes they don't. Any experiences? And what about Mali? I figure if the ATM works in Senegal I can just take cash with me to Mali.
If we're forced to do a cash advance on a debit card, what will be the fees? I take it there won't be any interest. This would be our last resort.

In Senegal you can find ATM in every major city for Visa and Mstcrd. In Mali no way to get money with a card. Only one bank in Bamako give cash with Visa but you must leave your card 24 hours. lorenzo
