Hi,
I'm trying to decide whether I should buy a North Face pack or a Tatonka. The North Face is more comfortable, but the Tatonka has the front zipper so you can easily get to things in the bottom of your pack, which I really like.
The two packs are roughly the same in terms of size, design and price, and I can't decide which one I should go for. Any insight, opinions, advice, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You'll have to decide which is more important: Features or comfort. Ask yourself this: Is the North Face decidedly more comfortable than the Tatonka? And, can I go without the features on the Tatonka? Personally, comfort is more important to me. You can always work around the features (or lack thereof) of a backpack. But, it's very difficult (impossible) to make an uncomfortable pack feel good on your back. You may not mind it in the store, but after an hour of carrying 40 pounds, you'll start to mind it.
