So After an 18 month hiatus from real solid backpacking, I finally had a coming to jesus moment and am starting to take larger quantities of unpaid leave from my 'Office Space' job. My question for the group is: where should I go? Flying out of baltimore, md.

I've done 3/4 of france (loved it, speak the language), some days in iceland, 2 weeks of italy, and day trips to some other places. I'm doing a week in austria/hungary next month, but am planning a 2 week trip for the end of the summer (first two weeks in september) I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO!

I could get to ireland for about 500 I could try to get back to southwest france and do some more of the country i loved I could try to get back out to eastern europe American Southwest

Help! I really am torn here, and I worry tickets are going to just get more expensive.

Europe is staid and expensive. Backpackers go there to work and save up money. Head to Asia or the middle east and really get your eyes opened. Far friendlier, more affordable (incomparably so), and more mind-bending.

Like Miguel said, go fall in love with South-East Asia like I this past Dec-March. Go lie on a beach on Koh Pha-Ngan or something. Perhaps cliche, but completely amazing in every way.
