I want to recommend the above site (it's mine) for a great non-commercial travel resource. After a few years of traveling, (I have detailed tips pages for over 40 countries) I have created a site to share all the obvious things you learn on the road in most of the world's major regions.
As I said it is a non-commercial site written by one traveller for others. So if you are new to independent travel or would like some up-to date advice (over 60,000 words of it!) please take a look and tell me what you think.
