It seems from looking around on various web pages that most of the 'social' hostels don't have lockers. Yikes! Can anyone suggest a fun one where I can lock mt suff up when I need too?

Taking a moment's reflection, Bartender Sam mused: It seems from looking around on various web pages that most of the 'social' hostels don't have lockers. Yikes! Can anyone suggest a fun one where I can lock mt suff up when I need too?
Most will have a safe room that is only accessible at certain times in the day.

The problem with these, where I have seen them (not in Paris), is that a bunch of stuff is thrown in one room with no verification of who takes what. I've never heard of anyone making off with someone else's kit, but all I have ever had to do to get access to 'the room' is to walk up and ask for the key. Nobody has ever matched tags with identity, or for that matter even confirmed that I was staying or had stayed at the establishment.
In other words, it's better than leaving it on the sidewalk.

Well thats why I won't stay in a place without lockers. A New Zealander I had met up with in Amsterdam had his pack nicked from a safety room.
