This message is in regards to a short news clip broadcast either Saturday July 31 or Sunday August 1, 2004 on cable TV.

The story was of a man who drives around the country with a topographic map and a GPS to find hidden water ponds that are not known to the public. When he finds a hidden pond he usually celebrates by going for a swim in it.

He has written 3 books about the subject, basically travel guides to locate these ponds yourself in the West, Southwest and I think the Pacific Northwest or New England. I can't seem to recall his name or the names of his books. His book sales allow him to travel the country full-time to pursue these lost ponds.

I can't find any reference to him on the cable stations websites.

Any observant viewer this past weekend catches his name or the name of his books?

Taking a moment's reflection, Lee Gotcher mused: This message is in regards to a short news clip broadcast either Saturday July 31 or Sunday August 1, 2004 on cable TV.

It would probably help to know what channel it was aired on.

He could save a lot of time and trouble by just squirting himself with a water bottle.

I saw it,too. It was about hidden 'swimming holes', not ponds.
