Has anyone stayed at this hotel? How is it? Is the location inconvenient for visiting places in Cairo. There seems to be a metro station nearby (Opera) but Lonely Planet says that the station is not always operational - is that true? Any other pointers to similar hotels in downtown Cairo will be highly appreciated.

Hello.

Although I don't stay in this category of hotels, I think its location is okay. Like you say, the metro-station is nearby, I never experienced a 'not operational' metro station in Egypt. On the other hand, it takes only 15 minutes to walk from the island (the hotel) to either Dokki or Tahrir square (the city centre).

Have a nice time in Egypt.
