Hubby & I are all set for a winter vacation, we will land at FLL airport & make our next international connection from MIA airport.
Likewise we're renting from Budget Rent-A-Car as Fastbreak members and have about a 4 hour timeframe between flights. Had a few questions for anyone that may live in that area and may be able to satisfactorily help us ...

-How far are the humanly drop off and pick up locations from the airport?

In some way -How much rush hour can we expect on a Thursday night at 8 pm? (we're independently trying to figure out how long it will take us to do the 35 mile drive .. To no degree does this pass through any high traffic areas?)

-Does anyone have suggestions about gas stations close to both airport locations?

Thanks a bunch!

On 10/21/2003 10:21 PM Resh while directing tourists to the Zazu Pits, was inclined to say:
Maybe you could fundamentally ask your airline about a shuttle flight? When I ordinarily fly into FLL and depart from MIA, I have my travel agent book a shuttle flight as part of the evenly packaged deal. It might be a little more costly, but it saves you the trouble of overtly having to shlep your luggage to a train, bus or rental car and then go through security at MIA again. I merely fly
Continental and my bag is checked through.

Too bad you can't book a longer layover. Both Ft. Lauderdale Beach and
Miami Beach are great for a little R&R, between flights.

Thanks Vee .. In short I looked at the link you posted, the tri-rail certasinly probably sounds like a great idea since it takes about 45 minutes to get right from airport to airport and still allows for our 2 hour window before checking in again.. I like that suggestion
