Having been on safari to both Namibia and Tanzania, would I find Costa Rica disappointing? Will the landscape/volcanoes be impressive enough to satisfy me even if I don't see much wildlife? Should I just head to the Galapagos instead, or maybe to India to see the tigers in Ranthambhore Park? Any suggestions would be welcome, especially from those who have experienced both.

Hello,
I think there is no disapointing country, every place in this world have interest, I am not sure it is possibble to compare countries (especially African with American or Asian !). The traveler have to find the interest of the place he visit, it is not always what he expected that will be the most interesting. This is my opinion. So I am sure that if you go to Costa Rica with open mind you will find interest.

The short answer is Yes. The people are usually great in CR but more and more it's become a backwater state of the USA-and there's very little wildlife to be seen in the Rainforest. As well the food is dreadful. Galapagos definitely.

i went to costa rica in july and was a bit disappointed with the bit of rainforest i saw, although it was a small national park. my friend who lives there says the OSA peninsula is much better and more remote. if i ever go back itt will be to the osa.
