Creative tourism invented by UNESCO means that there are cities called creative cities that the travelers in those cities can take an active part in the community, it give the traveler an authentic experience of the place and heritage of the people who live there.
Sally Moore the author of two guidebooks and member of the Authors Society of American Travel Writers, write in her blog about the conference on creative tourism held in Santa Fe earlier this month.
I was able to attend the Wednesday session, and in the following days, I will discuss our roundtable on Gastronomy, which attracted delegates from Japan, France, Santiago De Compostela, Barcelona, Bologna, as well as several of us New Mexicans.

Hi Sarah,
It is good to read about creative tourism.
New Zealand pioneered the concept in 2003 and we are still trying to get it established out here. All participants have really enjoyed the interactive experience and the cross-cultural exchange that take place during the workshops. I really believe this is the way to discover more about the country that you are exploring and about its people.

Hi, just a short note to let you know about the facebook group called Creative Travel New Zealand. It has a few interesting discussion topics on Creative Travel and some nice shots of Aotearoa.
and this is the link to Creative Tourism New Zealand: www.creativetourism.co.nz
In Florence we have introduced FLORENCE ART CRAWL which gives the visitor a chance to spend an evening with local people and artists and experience their own creative rapport with the city in a less-frequented part of town which is as historic and much more of a ‘neighborhood’ than across the river where David resides! In this way we hope to participate positively with the city… adding creative events in the evening and employing local artists.
