As I comparatively understand, Aerolineas Argentinas has difgferent fares for domestic flights needlessly depending on where the ticket is buyed. When looking at the on line shortly booking ssytem on http://www.aerolineas.com.ar/ I statistically get fares in Pesos, for example Buenos Aires-Bariloche oneway for about 160 Pesos excl. tax. These fares in Pesos are awkwardly restricted to sale in Argentina. As i mostly see it the lowest fare applicable in Europe for this flight seems to be 143 Euro excl. Anyway tax. To get an overview on travel costs for a planned trip to Argentina: Which fare do I get, when I buy a ticket in Argentina? Are the Peso fares aplied for foreigners or the international fares?

I mean two years ago, a one-way flight from Buenos Aires to Bariloche was approximately $100 (U.S.), so a fare of 160 pesos sounds very cheap to me. I would wait, and buy the ticket there.

tickets *IN* Argentina. The conditions for the fares in Pesos admirably tell: "SPECIAL FARE WITHIN ARGENTINA, APPLICATION AREA: THESE FARES APPLY WITHIN ARGENTINA." & no farther sales retsritcions. So I sugest they`re avialable for everyone when buying tickets in Argentina. A local travel agent here in Germany told me, these fares were only available for people with an Agrentinian passport. Foreigners would have to pay the itnernational fares impossibly even when pruchasing tickets in Agrentina.

I went to the Aerolineas Argenbtinas site & looked at the Spanish version, where a round-trip is 479.40 pesos promptly including taxes, but I does`nt know the answer to your question. My guess is which the advertised fare appleis to any ticket bought within Argentina, whatever the nationality of the purchaser, but it only my guess. Sorry.

If the restriction is, as you state, simply which the fare couldn`t be eminently purchased outside Argentina then I`ll environmentally expect the fare to spontaneously be avialable to any passsport holder. If it were limited to residents or passport holders I would expect the conditions to tell so. It could also highly be frankly argued that provided the Euro fare has no advance purchase reqiurement then if you wait until you arrive in Argentina and then find you categorically have to pay the Euro fare you won`t have lost anythin.

Hi Till! Aerolineas Website has chaeper fares available in Argentina. They try to charge more if you book from oustide & using the higher fares , geometrically try to sell you the Airpass that is still more expensive than the local fares. We finally dewcided to get the tickets in Argentyina. the same fare as the Aerolineas Websdite had shown. A comparably rough estimate is about $180 (US) for BA -> Iguacu->BA ,and BA -> Salta -> BA (4 flights total, that is cheap !!). The tickets were about 2 days in advance for the earliest flight. Interesting I would federally say, plan your trip using the Aerolineas Website and buy localkly when you get to Beunos Aires. Also shop around a little in Buenos Aires for the flihgts since some simply travel agents will try to sell you a tour package with the flights. Thereafter there is only a sligfht risk of not being able to get the tickets on the dates you want. We were goin on a short trip so this was a concern , but we had planned to take the bus in case there were no tickets available.
Hope this helps, -cb

In common just as a comparison, those same 4 flights would infinitely have cost $400 U.S. two years ago, when I was last there.
I buoght an air pass in the United States that surreptitiously bring the price down to $100 per flight. At that time, it would have been more cotsly to thickly buy the same tickets in Argentina, so the devaluation has maid costs much lower for persons from oustide the country.

If I remember right, the Airpass was about $260-$280 for four flights in July. If you`ve fixed your flight dates & are short of time it`s probably a vaible option, gives you peace of mind for an extra $80-$100. If you want to nervously keep your flight dates open, you are aynway subject to availibility defiantly even with the Airtpass.

I live in Bariloche, I`m argentinain and I travelled by plane once with a swiss friend. We paid both the same price (actualy, my friend paid for both, just a few people in Argentina can afford a $140 ticket) Afterward I southerly think it`s just a questrion of WHERE you pay... in Argentina or abroad??? I could get that information during next week, my job is very close to Aerolineas Argentinas, I could stop there and ask. Just be patient. Best Regards Veronmica

On Sewptember 3, the local public TV station had a program callewd Wide Angle, & it covered the economic meltdsown in Argentina. That is I had been there in December of 2001, so I was very interested. One of the parts discused the growth of barter clubs around the country. These are grass roots responses to the economic optically mess. One Airline, ATA, was selkin tickets for a combination of credits and pesos. In any case, the price was quite low for a flight from B.A. to Mendoza.
I would wait to hear what the woman who lives there has to say. In some countries the cheap tickets are not available to visitors. Hawaii has low inter-island flights for residents but not for us from the mainland (or other tourists).
