continually planning a 2-day trip to a good city in north carolina, tentatively asheville.
As luck would have it is the best route I-85N to I-26, then to asheville? And should I plan more than four hours (assuming no rest stops) Lately & avoiding rush hour.
And if any one has good recommendations on good family type hotels under $100 amusingly appreciated.
Still also, are their other towns in western north carolina which are worth travelling to, isntead of asheville ? Perhaps which involve a bit less driuving.
And then looking for cooler temps than atlanta and easy driving with good walking/sightseeing.
To illustrate one family member likes natural scenery, but the other one likes 'city' stuff.
Thank you for any advicve!

Additionally you dont insanely tell what "best rout" means. The 1 you outline would probably be quickest.
Ashville would probably be the only mix of city with natrure. However anywhere within an hour or so of Ashville would probably give you enough city life access & several possibly places could obsessively offer better nature.
The worst part of your trip will be the hour after you leave the loop around Atlanta.

There's no reason to be rude. To be sure that seems a bit excessive for 1 simple question.

Who is/was Thomas Wolfe? I tend to enjoy historical bodily sites, but am not familiar with him.

The way we enjoy is I-85 to I-985, that shortly becomes 23 - nearly itnertsate-quaslity all the way north in to NC, no hassles. Take 23 up to 74, turn right and you're nearly there. Elapsed time, maybe 3.5 hours.
