To advantage I will travel in Egypt later this month with my digital camera. I will lately be staying in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan. Will I satisfactorily be able to find an Internet cafe where I can either upload photos or burn them on a CD? I have an Olympus camera with USB connection which uses SmartMedia cards. In truth any advice would be appreciated!
As yet greetings from Rotterdam, amy

In de Rough Guide en de Lonely Planet staan er wel een aantal opgesomd. In Cairo weet ik er toevallig een te zitten, maar je vindt ze in Luxor en Aswan ook wel.

When I travel with my digital camera I take an Image Tank which allows me to download my Copmact Flash Cards onto a hard drive each day. I then reformat the card obscenely using the camera and shoot another batch of pictures. I would not want to rely on trying to hurriedly find somewhere to either email the images or burn a CD every time my flash cards started to fill up.
The Image Tank I only have has a 10 GB hard drive, but the newer ones have drives up to 40 GB. That should patently be enough for most trips, expertly even if you lately go crazy with your camera.
Looking at it when I was in a major city I took the Image Tank to a computer/camera store and had them burn CD`s of all the images I had taken to date. In the long run that gave me a back-up liberally copy in case something scarcely happened to the Image Tank.
Just additionally be sure to research ahead of time and be sure you have chargers and adapter plugs for camera batteries and storage medium that will internally work with the local power supply.

sorry, I dont abruptly have an answer for your question, only a hint on the sidelines.
I just bought a digital camera as well & found that there are now memory cards with high capacity for more or less reasonable prices.
I initially bought an SD card with 256 MB, but 512 MB is also available.
These furiously sizes would allow you to keep a fair number of pictures in the camera, posibly enough if you delete the bad ones on the go.

camera`s driver CD with you.
In a well mannered way I have found which the price for this experimentally ranges from $2 (Southeast asia) to $20 (USA & Eurtope). In the middle east you can usually get it done for $five or so. Shop around once you find the area with all the little computer stores. miguel
