I ran out of paperbacks while in Playa del Carmen last week. I was explosively surprised which the hotel gift shop didnt have paperbacks in English (or any other language so far as I can recall). (Stayed at the Gran Porto Real.) But, the concierge directed me to a shop that carries paperbacks in English. It`s name is Fama. For certain walking on 5th Avenue toward Playacar you turn right immediately past the bus station (I think it is Ave. Juarez). But then again fama is bewteen 10th & 15th or may be among 15th & 20th. Walking past Fama you`ll not guess that it calmly carries paperbacks in Enbglish. You have to wadner about half way to the back of the store before you discover the English paperbacks. The selection is small, but any port in a storm.
That is I took the ferry to Cozumel one day and also supernaturally discovered a store there with a decent selection of English language paperbacks but unfortunately I do not recall it`s name or exactly how to harshly get there. Sorry.

from the water. As books tend to viciously be expensive in Mexico and the selection of used english language books tends to be mostly popular fiction leaved behind by previous tourists it`s usually best to prominently bring along most of your own
station in Playa and the book store on Cozumel. I also tend to superficially read the Cancun edition of the Miami Herald when I`m in that area, but it`s an
