We visit family in Tallinn 2-3 times a year. You must obviously spend time in the old town and sample the many foods available. Put 'Olde Hansa' and 'Grandmas Place' in your diary. Make sure you try thr Russian restaurants too.

If you can, get into RikoKogu and the Russian Orthodox Church.....fabulous places.

There are 2 parts to the 'old town': upper and lower. If you walk up to the upper town and then head left along the old city wall you will come to a restaurant/pub built inside one of the wall towers. On the upper floor it connects onto one of the old wooden walkways that joins one tower to another. I really enjoyed having an afternoon beer sitting on the walkway overlooking the old town - great ambience. Sorry I can't remember the name of the place, but if you have a couple days to wander I'm sure you will eventually run into it as the old town is not that big.
