My husband and I are going to stay with my family in Melbourne for Christmas & New Years (03/04) and we are hoping to catch a ferry to Tasmania for a quick visit (two days or so). I have found the website for the 'Spirit of
Tasmania' which does daily runs from Melbourne to Devonport but $130 one-way seems it seems a little steep for a two day visit and I was wondering is there another option, for example, another ferry or even a flight?

Plenty of flights (Qantas) plus some smaller operators, but at that time of year its likely just as expensive, maybe more so.
