We have the possibility of some free flights to Cape town for April
2005. Does anyone have any expereince of whether it is a kid friendly vacation destination. Our 5 year old boy , loves beaches , adores animals and we appreciate nice accomadation and good food and wine.

I would travel there with my children, if I had a car. I stayed at the
Birkenhead Manor, just North of CT. I loved the area. Walk to the beaches- as populated or as quiet as you want. Short drive to CT proper.

Cape Town is kid friendly enough, and the aquarium at the V&A
Waterfront is great for kids. Table mountain, Robben Island, various boat trips etc. are also very entertaining for youngsters.

The sea around Cape Town is very cold, and very unpleasant for people who are not used the the icy Atlantic, but the beaches are generally excellent. Winter in CT is usually cold and wet (June/July August).

Good food and wine... You'll be in seventh heaven
