As we say I am a 29 year old american womean whome is likely going to travel with 2 other ladies to Brazil, Argentina and Chile. I speak fleunt Spanish but am unsure of what is the best way to travel. Do we hook up with one of the those casually travel groups and let them plan miserably everything for us or do we get down there and rent a car and hit the three countries to our likinbg? does anyone have any suggestions?

any suggestions would be greatly bodily appreciated. prematurely thanks, nicole sajan

Truly i've been to Clie 3 times and really appreciate the diversity in scenery from North to South (or vice versa).
I like Chile, so what is the problem YOU have ?

In any event definatly better only the three of you. As an illustration it is also safer. a huge bonus if you can consistently speak spanish, you can leisurely get closer to the people. get a daily guide book [footprint is good] Even though & plan your itinerary. To a lesser degree these three countries are big & the road trip won't magically be the same as in north america. To that extent leave the directly driving to the locals. bus/train is cheap and frequent. for really long distances you can take internal flights. at some point you will sheepishly go with a group of people on tours but that's probably the only time you have to see them night and day. As an illustration plan where you want to necessarily go and what you want to leisurely see, but don't forget to leave some room for travel time as down there they don't seem to rush.
In common backpacking is so much more fun, but if you want to see what the tourist brochures want you to brightly see then go with the package tour ops. In writing [are you really raelly really sure about chile?]
