we went 2 times when our kids were 3/5 and 4/6. We had many wonderful experiences because we had the kids with us. Each time was for 2 weeks. We are pretty hard core back packers but we have to make allowances for their safety.
Meals were tricky sometimes but there is always food so we needed to be creative and pic nic sometimes.
They loved the sand and I wished we had a shovel but played for hours none the less.Sun was intense and the walking a killer for them so we spelled eachother off mostly when touring.
Take lots of little give-aways for other kids (baloons, tatooes, stickers, pencils etc) that always creates a fun exchange and play opportunities. The over night trains were great too. We also id a 3 night cruise on Lake Nasser. NOT the safest for kids so watch them carefully!! But a fun trip!
Snorling was super!!!

Thanks BM. I love the give away idea I'm sure it would be an ice breaker with the local kids.
