Hi Bart

I'm also thinking of visiting India next year, probably Goa or South East India, for four to six months, departing in twelve month time (give or take a month or two) And seeing as it's my first time visiting somewhere like India am curious to see if someone want to go out with me, and/or give advice on such a trip. If your interested, let me know

Yours, Karl Gronneberg

hmm, Stick to the south if at all possible, The north has the eye candy, but the south is far more relaxed.

I agree you should look through a guide book to decide where you want to go and what you want to see. India has a lot to offer, and depending on what you want to see and do I'd recommend different places.

The guide book I recommend is Footprint- INDIA HANDBOOK. It'll get you off the beaten track, and you don't have to worry about meeting everyone else along the way. You'll meet people, but you won't have to wonder why the prices have gone up even tho you have this years issue (as seems to inevibly happen with LP)

Let us know what you want to do tho.. it 'd help with recommendations. Oh and if you're in the south hhave a masal dosa or 3 for me, eh?

Read indiatimes.com online and you'll definitely hear about all the places to avoid. Sounds like a horrendously violent place. The other day I checked out a video on Kashmir. It certainly looked beautiful and interesting, but the video made it sound like the peaceful place on the planet! By the way, the temple where the most recent massacre took place looks great on its website. But I'd probably drop it from my travel plans for now.
