When backpacking in Jamaica one recommended place to visit Treasure Beach.

Treasure Beach itself isn’t even a town in the proper sense of the word; it’s a scattered settlement spread across five small coves, each one bearing its own name and unique collection of colorful fishing boats. There are a couple of cramped shops and a handful of local open-air restaurants and rum shacks dotting the beaches; the few hotels are mostly low-budget guest houses that cater to the no-frills travelers intrepid enough to make the trip down here

A friend that returned recently from the island said that the Treasure Beach was one of the highlights of his travel, the prices are affordable, the food is great, and the company is fun to be with. It is also recommended by the rainbow’s community site.

Treasure Beach is made up of five bays along the Caribbean, each harboring a small fleet of fishing boats. Here, visitors are treated as guests, not tourists. Treasure Beach residents have a reputation for being honest, hard-working, respectful, and open.

If you think of backpacking through Jamaica don’t miss this area, few hours drive, but totally worth it.
