looking for info on backpacking SE Asia

I am planning to stay 3 months in Thailand, Vietnam & Cambodia and am looking for info on places to go & stay. Mostly I want to stay away from big cities and am also travelling alone - single white female - so advice is very much appreciated!

Karnal, welcome to the forum That is very general. Do you have any idea at all about what places you would like to see there?

my trip will take place during the period of Sept 1 to Dec 1. I do not have definite plans until I have some more ideas on places that might be safe for a single female. My interests are to go to smaller villages, Thailand -possibly Ko Tao, but am open to any suggestions that sound attractive. I will be backpacking, low budget, hostels, home stays, cheaper hotels or beach bungalows. I also want to see Vietnam but again on the same idea of basic low budget travel. I guess my main concerns are if anyone has any warnings - such as what to avoid in terms of travel from place to place. Is it better to fly, take the train or bus? are there any specific towns/cities that are known to be risky or high crime?
If there are other websites that provide this info, the link would be very welcome.
