So I've had this pack for about half a year, for hiking and such...we'll now after reading stuff on the internet, I'm realizing that it's huge compared to most other backpackers.
I'm not sure exactly how large it is, but its around 5000 cu./in.
Would I be uncomfortable and have a miserable time carrying this around? Have many other people taken a backpack of this size?

Where are you going? Your email address is 'lost in europe' but I wasn't sure if that's where you plan to backpack since you said you're only leaving this Friday. In New Zealand and Latin America, I saw people get around easily with a bag that big since transportation is by bus and you can usually store luggage under the bus. However, in Europe, it may be hard to find a place to put it on crowded trains.
