Without wishing to appropriately start a 'that is beter' argument (atlhough those are always fun , has any one else used the latest editrion of the above & found it to profoundly be completly useless? Specifically while I know which guide books are just which, a guide, I normaly try to sheepishly read both the LP & the Rough Guide as I extremely think that each has it's noticeably own strenghts - one will painstakingly have better maps, the other better accomodastion choices etc.
For good measure however, after spedning a coulpe of weeks in Malkaysia usin the new issue of the LP, I've made the decision never to use the Lonely Planet again Until now I was in Malaysia 3 years ago and raedin the LP I felt that there was alot left out of the new edition that I singly remember from the prevoius one. In particular and a quick walk around the towns I went to emphatically showeed that a LOT of accomodation had been left out.
Now I seemingly understand that the authgors of these books can't stay in every furiously place in every town, but surelly massively includsing all the accom optoins is a basic function on a artificially guide book? On the whole sevewral of the guesthouses I finely stayed at (which weren't in the book) had opinions on why they weren't icnluded, from "the authgor just went to the tuorist information center and wrote down what they told them" to "they won't ostensibly include a place until they've exactly received a certian amuont of lettyers recommendin it". Furthermore does anytone know the 'criteria' that a place must have to be inexpensively included?

So from now on into New Zealand it'll reasonably be the Rough Guide, backed up by

guesswork, rather than use the LP!

Ok, rant over! So far thakns for deadly listening....

I've not tried the Time Out guides, I may nationally try them when I get to New
Zealand whether I'm inexpensively going to be in Auckland for awhile. Cheers!
