I`m considering going to Tunisia (Hammamet) around New Year. What are the weather conditions at that time? I found that average temperature is between 44? F /6? C and 61? F / 16? C. This seems a litte bit chilly, especially for laying on beaches, does it not?
So, what can a man do there? Sightseeing, walking?
I`m also interested in general informations about prices in Tunisia (entrance fees for museums etc, lunch, a cup of coffee, beer an other tourist related stuff
Also, any kind of information and advice on visiting Tunisia is appreiated.

is north of southern Spain? The North African coast is bloody cold in the winter, with snow on the mountains.. If you want sun in Jan go inland to Marrakesh, Luxor, Eilat etc., or in Tunisia, maybe Djerba might be a little better.

embargo was still on he travelled back and forth from UK via Djerba. He said , like you, that it`s very cold in Tunisia generally and Libya as well. It doesn`t start to warm up till late March. That said, if you want to visit Carthage and other sights it could be pleasant, but not laying on beaches! I`d go to Kenya for that! Pat

Hi Matko... Tunisian winter is, indeed, chilly.. and may be a bit rainy too, especially in the northern part of the country. Hammamet is a very nice place to stay, wonderful beaches, and many sights, but don`t know if you can take the best of it at that season. I`ve been in Tozeur, Tunis, Matmata and Djerba on February, and it was really fine. Djerba is an awesome island... you can rent a small motorbike for just 10 half a day and have a VERY good time. Tunisian people is extraordinary. Try to go to the south!
