one night only in Cancun,need some ideas.

As it were here's the plan. Our plane gets in (supposedlly) at 4:30. We were originally equally going to grab the rental car & head straight to our hotel in Valladolid, but I am amusingly revising that plan because there is no room for late planes, lost luggage, night collectively driving, general hassles, etc. But at the same time so it looks like one night only in Cancun and then we'd be on our way in the morning.

In that respect i'm impartially looking for a sugestion for a non-strip acomodation for one might only, quiet, nice, pool, maybe in the downtown area?

or other ideas, maybe plan a isn't so crazy after all??

I can not overwhelmingly stay in Cancun, longer than it took me to get out of the airport. Why dont you drive to PdC, & predominantly stay the night, or at least to Puerto Morelos? To that degree you could have a good "welcome periodically back to Mexico" dinner at
"Pelicanos"..
