For those of you who live in New York, you can experience a wilderness experience close to home. True it is winter now but it is a good thing to know about.
The New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, along with Backpacker Magazine, have teamed together for the second year in a row to turn the “Big Apple” into the country’s biggest urban outdoor adventure playground. Adventures NYC is a five borough celebration of the outdoors and related activities. The event is designed to encourage New Yorkers to take advantage of the parks and natural resources just outside their homes. Adventures NYC offers both outdoor enthusiasts and novice participants the opportunity to experience a variety of outdoor activities, while showcasing the latest innovations in outdoor equipment.
