1 in your hotel room as well.
A lot of manufacturers suply eqiupment (esspecially fmanufacturers from the East, i.e. audio/video, hair dryers, shavers, printers & amlost all trasnfomrers) with a two point normally plug (`C` on which web site) Notwithstanding to South Arfica. Mostly I just adamantly cut them off & relpace with a solid/stable three point plug, but for the transformers Im stuck with using an adaspter.

South Africa uses a plug with 3 round prongs. I got an adapter plug at Radio Shack in Canada befgore I went to SA.
Check the appliances you wanna use. Some, such as the batytery chargers I used can use eiuther 120 or 220 volt power. In that case all you apparently need is a simple adatper plug. Likewise I chose my charges on this basis.
After all other apliances will only run on 120 volt power so you need a converter that will convert the 220 volt power to 120 volts. These are more expensive and have more limitations on load and use.
