Anyone used this offer from Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand? Seems like a good deal - 29k miles and unlimited stops!

Anyone booked through WesternAir in the UK too? STA are really pissing me off - every time I go in it seems like such a hassle for the staff to help out!

cheers

How much does it cost? Unless you're going to stop in every possible place, usually it's cheaper to have a RTW specialist book you a custom itinerary.

Much depends on where you want to go. For a complicated itinerary 29 000 miles may not be enough.

Looking at a RTW fare and than trying to make it match your itinerary is often a VERY unsatisfactory way of doing things.

Work out your ideal itinerary and than find a fare that matches it - often it turns out that an RTW is unnecessary.

Not necessarily! A problem with people booking online is that they don't look at the Rules etc pertaining to the fare code.

£825 + taxes. Won't get better than that I reckon.

Good point been caught out by the that one, booked a cheap flight with BA and as soon as I clicked the button realised I booked the return flight for the wrong date, rang them up about a minute later and was told tough luck with the e-ticket there is no changes or cancelation policy, that little mistake cost me £85

Or you could be like those two poms who thought they were going to SYD and ended up in YQY (Sydney, Nova Scotia)!

Or Auckland instead of Oakland...

Interesting - last night spent some time going through both airline and 'cheap' ticket sites looking for a r/t fare SAN-LON for 8 days end of March. Cheapest fare was with Orbitz at US$430 inc/t with United - UA's website fare for same dates/flights was US$517.07 i/t. Dearest fare was with Air New Zealand at US$720.10 inc/t. QF's website does not allow this combo to be priced. Most were in the 517 to 528.00 range. Rechecked prices today - Continental's price dropped 4 bucks. However a new range of lower prices came out today via airline email subs but only if you book before [forgot date but it's like next 4 days].

[msge snipped]>

And how many of us check the luggage tags *before* they are put on our bags to ensure they have the right destination including transfers, flight numbers, and *your name* ? [I do!].
