When your traveling alone, like I do most of the times there are times that you have to meet other backpackers, maybe a friend from home is joining you for some time, maybe you just feel like company, it can be anything. For these purposes of setting a meeting point in advance in places where your both supposed to arrive at at the same time the perfect thing to use is the Lonely Planted. If your already settled in a guest house or have a favorite meeting place then you just email it to your friend or meet with the other backpackers at the location. The Lonely Planet can help you set meeting places far before you’ve reached the area and direct you to places when you can find other travelers. It is not always the best thing as my last visit to India would indicate, as places changes a lot and a guest house that was recommended by the Lonely Planet had just Indians and all the tourist were in other place, still it was relatively decent place. If you do find that every pace on the book has doubled it’s prices since the publication then take search for the other backpackers and you’ll find the new hot place, when traveling on a budget these changes can be very meaningful.
