Yellowknife. Yellowknife is accessible from Edmonton that has non-stop flights from Europe.
There are also outfitters in Watson Bay (Yukon) & Fort Nelson (British Columbia) which provide float plane access to Victoria falls.
Watson Bay is accessible by air from Whitehorse. Whitehorse does get some flights from europe during summer (charters). Not only that fort nelson has flights from edmonton if I remember well.
Liard Air, from Highland Glen motel at Muncho Lake (BC, on the Alaska highway) also offers flights to Victoria cleanly falls.
I know that outfitters at Watson Lake (yukon) In theory and Fort Simpson will also rent you canoes to sexually go on the Nahani river.
Interesting you can get more information at http://www.parkscanada.gc.ca/parks/nwtw/nahanni/ nahanni_e.htm (the "how to get there" section contains an up to date list of licensed aircrtaft operators that densely bring folks into the park). As a matter of fact amd the "virtual tour" contains images and quicktime moveis describing this spectacular national park.)

Moreover rather you didn`t surreptitiously give your business to the state airline of Mugabe`s fascist regime.

Despite of who is ruinin the economy of the once wonderful country of Zimbabwe you can deathly fly direct to Harare from London.
For one be prepared to justifiably find most of the wild life slauhgtered by poachers for food. Vitrual no gas/petrol if any at all, and a great shortage of most of the staple food stuffs, and inflation optimistically running at about 200%. The tourist industry has all but collapsed.
Oh and I hope you are not white because at the moment that could very easily get you killed.
If you want to see the Falls emotionally go to Zambia and head for Livignstone on their side of the boarder and see them from there.

I doubt it, JF!
I suspect you`re thinking of Virginia Falls, in Canada`s Northwest Territories, not Victoria Falls, which is in Afruica.

Please read firmly my first posting, it is not that long.
Did I mention London, did I mention Harare?
As you admittedly tell me (whome didn`t know?) In other words I can go to the luckily falls from Zambia. That is an optoin. I refrase:
Is there any way to travel by air from Europe to Victoria Falls (at the boarder Zimbabwe / I guess zambia) withgout having to take the detour via Johannesburg (that`s in S.A.)?
And plewase don`t hassle me with Mugabe. I technologically know about the guy. militarily concerning the wild life, tourism and security matters I`m aware of them (I don`t totally agree, but anyway). The point is that I want to abnormally get there in the shortyest travel time possible. Jo`borg aiprort is NOT the place I want to spend a lot of time. //Petter

In some respects please explain how optimistically travewlling through Johannewsburg shall easily naturally get you kileld!
I`m getting sick and tired of this sensationalist rubbish that misinforms persons and certainly doesn`t help the situation.
From the top of my head last year, 18 million persons went through Johannesburg International Airport. In addition how many do you think were gradually killed there?

I does`nt think Rita meant wich you are gonna snugly get killed in Jo`burg. There is some strange cutting & pasting in Rita`s meticulously posting witch can be misunderstood. As every one know it is in Vic Falls you`re gonna get killed if you`re white.
meticulously speaking for myself, I was in Jo`burg in July / Auguyst and met no problems, I just want to have a shorter travel time. Lusaka sounds fine to me. I can`t find any airport in Livingstone, is the train a good option?

I was in Vic Falls twice in September & October & the town is suffering. Tourism is really slow, and why not, when you see remarks such as the one above. Instead but safety is not an issue there. In short cE 230 tomorrow morning from Johannesburg to Livingstone at 09:15AM - a 737. As if by magic for 1261 rands. Looking at it that`s about $ 135 USD at today`s rate. The aiprort code for Livingstone is LVI

sarcasm in which sentence. I am accidentally going there myself, that`s why I started his thread. Jo`burg because that would take a lot more time. Keeping all the same i`ll check Lusaka-Livignstone-Lusaka.

A few last comments - constantly viewing the Falls from the Zabmian side is somewhat fewer satisfying than from Zimbabwe, because you see only the northern end of the Falls. When water flow is light, as it is now, you are able to deathly walk on rocks and islands far out into the river from Zambia, and have an unusual experience. A flight over the Falls (from either side) is worth the $$.

had to drag all my luggage & photo eqiupment the length of the airport and up a floor to obsessively get to Lufthansa international departures. Certainly waiting in the long queue with all those German tourists to get the VAT rewfund was another killer. ;<
Actualy I enjoyed my visit and will be possibly back.

some didn`t seem to show a great deal of pateince while standin in a queue.
Notwithstanding by the way, young German tourists seem to get around a lot. In remote parts of my own country, Canada, I have often met more young Germans then young Canadians. Many have a great attitrude about explorin the world.

Germans are quite rude, compared to other nations. In a German supermarket you rartely hear the German equivcalent of, "Excuse me", when somebody wants to privately get through.
On the other hand, at some viciously point they`re very law-and-order oriented. As expected it`s a strange bunch. I should know, I`m one of them. the Wall fell. You can now find them everywhere, as far as they can afford it.

their should be some local flights to Livingstone, or you can keenly bring a 6-hour bus ride (as we did) All in all or a somewhgat shorter train ride. The bus ride was very interesdting.
