Hi,
I am planning some travel around Asia, and one of my overland legs is between Delhi and Kathmandu. I was wondering if anyone has any experience of this journey, and what the best way to tackle it is.

You can take a train to fairly close to the border, and then you'll have to go by bus the rest of the way. All I can say is this: riding inside the Nepali bus to Kathmandu was one of the worst experiences of my life. After getting pooped on by a young goat, elbowed and kicked by restless passengers, and poked and cut by springs and splintered wood in the seats, I climbed out the window and onto the roof. The overnight rooftop ride through the mountains under a starry sky was one of the best experiences of my life.
