<ux, welcome to the forum

I have not done this with my kids when they were young but ... I think children are great 'adaptors' (more so than adults) - and would do just great on a journey you are describing, but only have to keep to the regime of vaccinations as laid out by the world health organizations

We travelled recently to India 2x with young children (ages 5 and 1 1/2), mostly to visit family but did some sightseeing. Kids had a blast. 5 year old wanted to bring home an autorickshaw for his private use. We were very careful with the water (bottled only) and food (no street food treats) and had no problems with tummy issues. Kids both loved riding on trains, including overnight and more-than-1-day journeys. Check with dr before you go re vaccinations (our pediatrician moved up a couple of the vaccinations for the littlest one) and re malaria meds.
