Hello I'm planning to go from perth to bali the next few weeks, then stay a few weeks in indonesia and go on travelling to different countries in SE Asia 'on the ground' a normal one-way should cost about 700 to 800 AU$. now i found the offer from GARUDA INDONESIA. they offer a 'shopping trip' from perth to bali return for just 340 AU$ incl. TAX. i just don't know if i get a visa just for one day in indoensia, cause the return flight leaves the same day. has anybody done that before? does the immigration give 60 days visa anyway, or is it depending on the date of your return flight? thanks a lot

I'd take the risk. I've only rarely been asked to show my ticket in Indonesia, and no matter what happens (no onward ticket, acceptable onward ticket, or nobody looks), I always get the 60-day stamp. It's not like Singapore where they can afford to have a whole set of stamps at each counter (there I've received 7-day, 14-day, 30-day, and 90-day stamps, seemingly at random).

Hmmm... this sounds interesting. What WILL happen if you arrive in Bali without a return ticket? Will they ignore it (not check), put you on a return plane og force you to buy one?

Any comments or experiences will be much appreciated.

The only time anyone made an issue of it, the guy at the counter sent me over to the supervisor, and the supervisor just told me to wait in another line and not worry about it. The person in the other line let me right in.
