I am a dutch citizen and plan to make a short daytour from Kasane (Botswana) to Victoria Falls. What is the costs for a visa? Is there a one day visa? What is the entrance fee to see the Falls from the zimbabwean side?

Hi Hans, the last time I was in Vic. Falls (2 october 2002) we came from Livingstonia, and crossed the border to Vic. Falls. We had to pay 15 US$ per person. To visit the Falls I believ it was 25 US$. However, we entered the Falls from Livingstonia via the Hotel entrance (we changed US$ at an office there), and then the entrance is for free! (en dat moet een Nederlander toch zeker wel aanspreken).

So you came from Zambia over the bridge into Zimbabwe? The 15 US$ was that a day visa or did you stay longer in Zimbabwe? So entrance fee to the Falls on the Zimbabwean side is 25 US$ (us to be 10 US$ when I was there back in 1998...). Surfing over the Internet ( www.visum.nl ) etc. it seems that I (European union) don`t need a visa. But last time, in december 2002, I was in Beitbridge they told me 30 US$ a person. What must I believe now?

Yes, we came over the bridge from Livingstonia. The entrance from Zambia must have been a normal visa, because we spent 2 days in Vic.Falls. In 2000 we entered Tanzania from Malawi, and we had to pay 50 US$ each!! Our guide said to me that I should ask the douanier for the `price-list`... He should me a list which mentioned the amount. Later I found it that it was indeed 50 US$.
So, difficult what to believe, but I would never buy a visa in Holland or Belgium. Groeten Corn?.

I just went there. I was on the zambian site of the falls and had to catch a plane in Zimbabwe. We had to pay US30 p/p to cross the border, and this was just for being half an hour in Zimbabwe. I met people who didn`t have to pay. I think there is no rule. But don`t start a discussion at the border.
