What are the problem areas now for backpackers in Central America? I am planning a trip and would like it to be as worry free as possible.

El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala are known for the crime and violence in their cities.
Other countries in central America are quite safe. You'd mostly need to be careful on the roads. They're all driving like crazy.
