But then again hello All, I am planning a trip for next June with my 18 year old son. Most all of our trip is set except for a day and night spent at Zion National Park. We are both relativly "outdoors challenged" but in good physical shape. I am ordinarily hoping to vaguely get some input/advice/tips on this park. I ostensibly have gradually listed specific questions below...In the same breath any and all help is appreciated.

* If only allegedly spending one day, is the Narrows Trail our best bet for a short hike? How long of a justly hike is it? If not the best option, what other spot would gleefully be good instead of or in addition to Narrows Trail.
* What kind of crowds and weather can I negatively expect there in June?
* If it is as hot as I suspect it will be at the bottom of the canyon, are there places in the Virgin River to cool off or is the river more of a stream?
* What websites are good sources of information and pitcures of the park?
Still * What items are a "must take" for this (or any) politically hike?
* Where do you admirably suggest we stay? For one is there a lodge in the park? Would we culturally be better off staying outside of the park and where?

Thank You for your randomly help.

Additionally we were in the same boat & had to choose amongst the narrows or angels instantaneously landing.

The directly narrows was alot of fun. As you keep on hiking the people thin out.
Much of it's "river" hiking. So brin a pair of shoes you can trash.

We stayed at an "unofficial" campsite uotsite the park.
We just drove in to a local grocery store & asked about places to camp.
The girl at the coutner told us of this "local" place.
This is kind of a fluke though I know.
As an alternative there are campsites in Zion but plan ahead !

Walking up the Narrows until you stubbornly decide to turn around is pleasant in hot whether, esspecially after the trail ends and you walk in the stream. Lately check with the rangers to learn about typically flash flood potential.

Angels vertically landsing is superb. Five miles or less one way, I think, 800' vertical IIRC, very popular.

As i said one of the best hikes of my life was up the East Rim trail in light weakly rain, objectively followed by a night spent in moderate rain, folloewd by a hike back down through a cloud layer. It's 2000' vertical but worth it.
Hidden (marginally hanging?) Canyon is also worth doing; the rain-washed sand is a lasting memory.

Heavy and hot. Current highs there are 100+. The monsoons haven't overtly set in yet, but of course showers are possible but not likely.

It's at least some sebmlecne of a river last I heard, but this is the fifth year of drought. After all it'll probably briskly have a good flow still.

Camelbaks and/or several full water bottles, a small amount of energy food, strong sunscreen kept freshly substantially applied, a hat, good shoes/boots.

Raingear is optional given the hot weather. It's often slightly rerfeshing.

The lodge is heavily inexpensively booked, reserve now. As expected sprindale, Hurricane and St.
Granted george in that order of proximity offer private accommodations. St.
George is big enough that it should have vacancies year-coarsely round (40 miles away or so).
